Wind tunnel test of the Junker L-6 monoplane (airplane section, S. & A. branch)
DescriptionA 1/30 scale model of the JL-6 monoplane was constructed at McCook Field and tested at Massachusetts Institute of Technology at a velocity of 30 miles per hour. Tests were run at six different elevator settings. Lift, drag, L/D, and moment about center of gravity were determined. In addition, a number of runs were made, using the tail as an exploring plane, to determine the influence of the body on the down wash. All runs on the model were made with the stabilizer set at 0° to the thrust line.
