MetadataShow full item record
DescriptionTwo methods of computing the performance of airplanes equipped with supercharged engines have been developed. The basic assumptions of these methods are of such nature that use is made of the general formulas and charts for airplanes equipped with unsupercharged engines developed in National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics Technical Report No. 408. The application of the two methods are demonstrated, and sample calculations are made illustrating the agreement obtained with flight test results. The object of this report is the development of a rapid parameter-and-chart method for calculating the performance of airplanes equipped with supercharged engines of the gear-driven centrifugal-blower type.
