dc.descriptionCases of axially loaded beams with two supports, restraining moments at both supports, and one restraining moment determined by loads outside the support or by the type of support, are sometimes encountered in airplane structures. The formulas for computing the unknown restraining moment are herein derived for four cases of side load. These formulas are supplementary to the "Precise formulas" given in Airplane Design, by A. S. Niles, chapter 2, or in Air Corps Information Circular No. 493, Section I.en_US
