Weaver, Edgar R.
MetadataShow full item record
DescriptionThe Douglas O-2 was static tested for the purpose of determining its structural strength. The wing structure is structurally unsatisfactory for the high-incidence condition, having failed where only 94.12 per cent of the designed load was imposed on the wing cellule. The proof static tests of the horizontal control surfaces were conducted for the purpose of determining whether or not the control surfaces were structurally satisfactory and safe to run the performance tests.
