The object of this test is to furnish general information regarding the design and performance of the 450 horsepower Napier-Lion engine. The performance of this engine was good. While it is not recommended as a service type because of the unnecessarily complicated construction, the general arrangement and some of the parts such as the valve gear, crank-shaft bearings, compression release, etc., might well be studied in connection with proposed engine designs.en_US
